Que es una mascarilla FFP1

FFP1 masks are a “Filtering Face Piece” according to the European EN 149 standard. They are mechanical filters used in what are technically called “respirators”, and more commonly just known as “FFP masks”. While similar to Chinese KN95 or US N95 article link masks, FFP1 masks have distinct features and follow a different regulatory standard. Read about the differences here [insert article link]. FFP1 masks have the lowest filtration in their category, and are generally single-use devices.

FFP1 masks are considered Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as they protect the person wearing them against particulates such as dust aerosols, particles, and droplets.

FFP1 masks are mainly used to protect against dust, that can cause lung diseases like silicosis, siderosis, anthracosis and asbestosis (in particular dust from silica, coal, iron ore, zinc, aluminium or cement).

Filtering facepieces come in 3 types according to EN 149:2001+A1:2009.
